Federal Law Minister Barrister Farogh Naseem has advised the 11-party opposition alliance, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), to submit handwritten resignations, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday, Farogh Naseem said computer-typed resignations mean the member of the assembly is not serious in his resignation. “Even if the PDM lawmakers resigned from the seats, the Senate elections will not be delayed,” he further added.
He was giving his legal point of view on the resignations by the legislators of the PDM parties.
The law minister and MQM-P senior leader Farogh Naseem said that opposition parties’ alliance PDM should submit handwritten resignations because as per the decision of the Supreme Court only handwritten resignations will be acceptable.
“Senate elections will not be postponed even in case of receipt of all PDM resignations,” the minister maintained.
He expressed his wish that the opposition should not submit its resignations from the assemblies. “There is no public support in favour of the PDM,” he further added.
He advised the opposition parties not to disrupt the government's functioning and let the incumbent government complete its five-year term.
Commenting on the recent development in which the federal government approved the results of the 2017 census results on which MQM and PPP had reservations, Farogh Naseem demanded re-census in Karachi.
The TV channel reported that the Sindh Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah rejected the decision of approval of 2017 census results by the federal cabinet.
