The relatives and locals blocked the Kohat Road on Friday over the brutal murder of three young close relatives in the Matni area of Peshawar, as they placed their bodies at Gulzar Chowk in protest, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The killings of these youngsters, who were not only relatives but also close friends, took place on Thursday night at Asho Khel. They were returning home after buying some items from a local bazaar when the unidentified killers ambushed them, killing them on the spot.
One of them was associated with the Frontier Corps and stationed in Bajaur. He had arrived in his native area to spend holidays with his family.
Matni is located in the erstwhile Frontier Region (FR) Peshawar which became part of the settled areas after the merger of FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The frontier regions – located between the settled areas and the former FATA like a buffer zone – were administered the deputy commissioner of the respective district.
On the other hand, police arrested one of the killers after three people were killed in the Toru Mayar area of Mardan as CCTV footage showed the armed men opening fire at the victims. However, two other culprits managed to flee the scene.
