Christians celebrate Palm Sunday with religious fervor across Pakistan

Followers of the Christian faith around the world are observing Palm Sunday, a significant religious occasion commemorating Jesus Christ's triumphant entry into Jerusalem.
Under the stringent security arrangements to ensure safety, special religious services were observed in various churches across the county.
In Lahore, the Christian community is fervently participating in Palm Sunday observances with enthusiasm. At the Sacred Heart Cathedral Church in Regal Chowk, Archbishop of Lahore, Bishop Sebastian Francis, led the Palm Sunday worship.
Palm Sunday, also known as "Khajoor Ka Itwaar" in Pakistan, sees Christian men, women, and children holding palm branches in their hands as they participate in symbolic rituals. The occasion marks the welcome reception of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem.
Palm Sunday holds immense significance for Christians worldwide, symbolizing the beginning of Holy Week leading up to Easter Sunday. It is a time for reflection, prayer, and celebration within the Christian community, as they remember the events leading to Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection.
The Pakistani Christian community's observance of Palm Sunday underscores their deep-rooted faith and commitment to their religious traditions. It serves as a testament to the vibrant diversity and religious tolerance within Pakistan's societal fabric.
