If you’re still using a ten-year-old iPhone 5 or 5C shaker, you should note that the company that owns Facebook will soon stop supporting these devices.
The iPhone 5 and 5C are not compatible with iOS 12 and later, which means that WhatsApp will no longer receive the latest security, feature and general functional updates on both phones.
According to the announcement, WhatsApp will officially stop supporting iOS 11 and earlier versions on October 24th, so if messaging processor is an important part of your connected life, there is plenty of time to plan.
The messaging app currently works best on iOS 12 and later, i.e. Apple phones 5S and later.
Apple stopped making the iPhone 5 in 2013, and although it was popular in its day, it is safe to say that some people still use the device. The situation is a bit different on the iPhone 5C, however, Apple recently discontinued that phone in India in 2016 and elsewhere in 2015.
It’s not uncommon for app makers to stop supporting older mobile operating systems because emerging new features can no longer work with older technology. In March 2021, WhatsApp took a similar step when it dropped support for iOS 9, affecting users of its messaging app on the iPhone 4S.–theclevelandamerican.com
