Detected by a WhatsApp notification site WABetaInfo, the company has announced that it will be discontinuing support for iOS 10 and iOS 11 in the fall.

The iPhone 5 and 5C are not compatible with iOS 12 and later, which means that WhatsApp will no longer receive the latest security, feature and general functional updates on both phones.

According to the announcement, WhatsApp will officially stop supporting iOS 11 and earlier versions on October 24th, so if messaging processor is an important part of your connected life, there is plenty of time to plan.

The messaging app currently works best on iOS 12 and later, i.e. Apple phones 5S and later.
