Naan and roti prices rise in Lahore

The Muttahida Nanbai Association has increased the prices of naan and khameeri roti by Rs5 in Lahore. The new rate for both items is now Rs30, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
The association said the price of fine flour sacks has jumped from Rs4,500 to Rs5,000. Due to this increase in flour cost, tandoor owners decided to revise the rates.
However, the association added that if their demands are accepted, they will sell naan and khameeri roti for Rs25.
The Punjab government said it has no connection with the rise in the price of fine flour sacks. It added that plain roti continues to be sold at the government-approved rate of Rs14.
