Firdous Jamal once again takes a dig at Mahira, Mawra’s acting credentials
Veteran television, theatre, stage and film actor Firdous Jamal has shed light on his statement regarding actress Mahira Khan not fitting the criteria of a youthful heroine which previously gained quite a lot of recognition over the internet.
In an interview, the host asked the senior artist whether he still holds the same perspective regarding Mahira to which Firdous had a lot to say. He stated that Mahira Khan should do character roles, should adopt characterization.
Elaborating his stance, the actor declared that when one thinks about a heroine, an innocent youthful actress comes to mind however Jamal thinks that Mahira Khan is no longer in the age-group to portray young ‘heroine’ roles.
Furthermore, Firdous explained that by characterization he doesn’t want to imply that Mahira should do ‘ama’ and ‘dadi’ roles, he thinks the actress can take on a wife’s or a sister’s character quite efficiently.
Previously, when Firdous Jamal had uttered controversial statements regarding Mahira Khan, actress Mawra Hocane had taken to her Twitter handle and expressed her reservation regarding the veteran actor’s beliefs.
Mawra wrote: “Taking a dig at the biggest name of your country makes you as small as it gets. Disrespectful remarks in the garb of opinions needs to STOP. Hope the two minutes of fame were worth it. Mahira works extremely hard to be where she is. It’s not easy. So proud of you my M.”
Approaching the topic of Mawra in latest interview, Firdous said that he hasn’t seen any of Mawra’s dramas.
Furthermore, the senior actor stated: “How does it affect me? I mean how much garbage will you throw at a Mosque ultimately it will still remain a pious place similarly a garbage thrower will always remain a garbage thrower.”
