Ishaq Dar, UK Foreign Secretary discuss trade, regional issues at UNGA sidelines

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a meeting with British Foreign Secretary Yehudit Cooper on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session, the Foreign Office confirmed on Wednesday.

According to Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan, the talks covered a wide range of subjects, including the Pakistan-UK partnership, trade, investment, as well as regional and global issues.

Dar emphasized the importance of further deepening bilateral ties, noting that the Pakistani-origin community in the United Kingdom serves as a vital bridge for strengthening people-to-people contacts.

Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in political, economic and development sectors, while reaffirming their commitment to maintain close engagement on issues of mutual interest.

The meeting underscored Islamabad and London’s shared desire to bolster collaboration at a time of growing regional and global challenges.
