Sindh approves grace marks for intermediate science students in 2024 exams

The Sindh government has issued a notification granting grace marks to Pre-Medical and Pre-Engineering students appearing in the Intermediate Part-I annual examinations 2024.

According to the official directive issued by the Department of Universities and Boards, students will be awarded 20% grace marks in Chemistry, and 15% each in Physics and Mathematics. The decision follows the provincial cabinet's approval during its meeting on April 15.

The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi has been informed, and formal instructions for implementation have been sent. However, the board currently lacks a permanent chairman, with the Karachi Matriculation Board’s chairman temporarily holding the post.

The grace marks move stems from recommendations made by a special cabinet committee, formed to reduce academic pressure and offset disruptions to the education system caused by various ongoing challenges.

The notification, signed by Sharifuddin, Section Officer for Boards, reflects the government’s intent to support students in their academic journey amid evolving educational landscapes.
