Five killed due to firing over property dispute in Bhakkar

Five people were killed while three were seriously injured in an exchange of fire between two groups over a piece of land in Jhok Faqeer Ata Muhammad, a suburban area of Bhakkar, on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Soon after having been informed, a large contingent of police and Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the spot.

Both sides also used sticks and rods during the brawl.

Later, the Elite Force personnel were also deployed in the area as the situation remained explosive.

Man attacks wife with knife in Lahore 

Also on Saturday, a drug addict in Kot Lakhpat area of Lahore injured his wife by repeatedly attacking her with a knife after the latter refused to give him money.

Police said that 27-year-old Mehnaz, who had injuries on different parts of her body, was shifted to General Hospital.

Police further said that raids were being conducted to arrest the man.
