Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza arrested

Jhelum police have arrested prominent religious scholar Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO).

Authorities have also confirmed the sealing of his academy following official directives.

According to police sources, the arrest was made on the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner of Jhelum. Mirza was taken into custody and later transferred to jail as part of administrative measures under Section 3 of the MPO, which permits detention to uphold public order.

In addition to the arrest, officials have sealed Engineer Mirza’s academy, locking the premises to prevent any gatherings or activities.

The move comes amid increased scrutiny and monitoring of religious institutions throughout the district.
