KRL win President's Cup One-Day Tournament  

Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) Thursday won the President's Cup One-Day Tournament after defeating Pakistan Television (PTV) by 4 wickets in the final played at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.

PTV captain Shamil Hussain won the toss and decided to bat first. PTV were bowled out for 164 runs in 40.2 overs.

In reply, KRL achieved the required score in 34.4 overs for the loss of 6 wickets.

In PTV's innings, Shamil Hussain scored 50 runs with the help of 6 fours and 2 sixes. He scored a total of 452 runs in this tournament, including 2 centuries and 3 half-centuries.

Imad Butt scored 24, Taimur Khan 23 and Muhammad Mohsin 22.

For KRL, Sufyan Muqeem and Ahmed Hassan took three wickets for 23 and 25 runs, respectively.

Sufyan Muqeem remained the leading wicket-taker of the tournament with 20 scalps to his credit.

In the KRL innings, Shahzeb Khan scored 53 runs with the help of 4 fours and a six before being bowled lbw by Ali Usman.

He also topped the scoring charts of the tournament with 485 runs, including a century and 5 half-centuries.

Shahzeb Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed added 51 runs in the fifth wicket partnership. Iftikhar Ahmed played an innings of 25 runs with the help of 4 fours and was bowled by Faisal Akram, who had earlier taken the wickets of Waqar Ahmed (11) and Sarmad Bhatti (0).

Saad Baig was dismissed for 23 runs with the help of 5 fours. Mohammad Amir was not out for 21 and Hamza Nazar was not out for 10.

For PTV, Faisal Akram took 3 wickets for 51 runs. Ali Usman took 2 wickets for 19 runs.

Shahzeb Khan was also declared the Player of the Final and the Best Batsman of the Tournament.

Sufyan Muqeem (KRL) named the Best Bowler of the Tournament and Mohammad Taimur Khan (PTV) the Best Wicketkeeper.

Iftikhar Ahmed (KRL) was declared the Best Player of the Tournament.
