FJMU seminar on anti-corruption war

The Fatima Jinnah Medical University arranged an awareness seminar on anti-corruption and character building. President College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan Prof Dr Shoaib Shafi attended the moot as chief guest.

Former VC Fatima Jinnah Medical University Prof D. Aamir Zaman Khan and Deputy Director NAB Lahore Muhammad Sajid specially participated in the seminar. Principal FJMC Prof Dr Noreen Akmal, Registrar Prof Dr Muhammad Nadeem, Deans Prof. Kamran Khalid, Prof. Maniza Qayyum, Prof. Zahra Khanum, Prof. Manza Iqbal, Prof. Naveed Akbar Hotiana, All Departments A large number of heads, faculty members and students participated

The main objective of the seminar was to create awareness and eradicate the issue of defamation. In his welcome address, Vice Chancellor Prof Khalid Masood Gondal said that the cooperation of Fatima Jinnah Medical University with NAB has always been very good and we are very grateful for the arrival of Mr Sajid Sahib, Deputy Director of NAB Lahore.

He said that most people resort to bad titles to fulfil their desires. He revealed Fatima Jinnah Medical University has obtained the membership of United Nations Academic Impact among 1500 institutions in 152 countries which are working together with the United Nations to promote the development of global health. Deputy Director NAB Lahore Muhammad Sajid gave a detailed briefing on the definition and types of corruption, the evolution of accountability laws, the introduction of NAB, the operational procedure of NAB and various related topics.

He said the Fatima Jinnah Medical University's services in medical education are commendable. He said 2021’s recovery was 839.175 billion rupees and the conviction rate in the year 2021 was 66%. 

Former Vice Chancellor Amir Zaman thanked NAB and praised its work since its inception. We hope that in the future Pakistan will be a corruption-free state. President College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan Professor Shoaib said corruption is not only stealing money but turning away from one's responsibilities also falls under the category of corruption. 

He gave a message to the students to always live honestly. He thanked Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, Deputy Director NAB Muhammad Sajid and Faculty of Fatima Jinnah Medical University. An awareness walk against corruption was also organized.
