Fitna al-Hindustan blamed for latest terrorist attacks in Balochistan

The Balochistan Assembly session began 20 minutes late on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Speaker Abdul Khaliq Achakzai, with lawmakers strongly condemning a recent terrorist attack in Turbat that claimed the lives of women and children.

During the session, Provincial Minister Zahoor Buledi informed the House that terrorists had attacked a house in Turbat, martyring women and children. He termed the incident highly condemnable and called for a resolution against the attack.

Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti also denounced the attack, stating that the targeting of a family was an inhumane act. He assured lawmakers that terrorists involved in this incident would be brought to justice and announced that compensation would be provided to the affected family.

The assembly offered Fateha for the martyrs of Turbat and Chaman. A joint condemnation resolution against the attack in Buleda was presented by Zahoor Buledi and unanimously passed by the House.

Speaking on the floor, Buledi said that Fitna al-Hindustan was involved in the incident and urged the federal government to take action. He claimed that India had increased funding to its proscribed organisations and said countries supporting terrorists, including India and Afghanistan, should be exposed. He stressed that unless political parties, civil society and people from all schools of thought unite in condemnation, such incidents would continue.

In legislative proceedings, the House presented and passed the Balochistan Animal Slaughter Control Bill 2025, introduced by Local Government Department representative Bakht Muhammad Kakar.

Later, addressing the media, Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti said that sustainable development depends on peace. He thanked the people of Dera Bugti for maintaining peace and harmony in the Bekar area and urged residents across Balochistan to promote stability in their respective regions. He called upon all tribes to stand united against terrorism and support the security forces.

The chief minister also shared positive news from Dera Bugti, announcing that the first-ever C-section had been successfully conducted in Bekar, resulting in the birth of a baby girl, which he described as a moment of happiness.

The Assembly session was adjourned until 3 pm on February 27.
