PPMC takes u-turn on billing of solar system connections
Power Planning and Monitoring Company (PPMC) took a U-turn on the billing of the solar system as another notification was issued for providing relief to consumers in January electricity bills, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Contrary to the agreement, they caused huge losses to those who generated excess electricity and then sent a letter to provide relief.
PPMC completely bans providing relief to consumers who generate electricity by installing additional panels.
When the letter was issued in December, the units exported by solar customers were considered zero.
Billing was done on imported units instead of being based on exported units. PPMC orders billing for contract violators under MDI.
Under the new letter, it has been instructed to conditionally bill under DG capacity. It was only ordered not to provide relief on additional units, contrary to the agreement.
Export benefits were not given to those who violated the agreement in December. Billing matters are with NEPRA; PMCC is not involved in billing.
