US tariffs force India to reduce oil import from Russia 

Following the imposition of US tariffs, India’s narrative that it is impartial in world politics has been exposed, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

On the other hand, the country is also under lot of financial strain and is becoming increasingly isolated in the world.

US Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent has confirmed that after the imposition of tariffs, there is a marked reduction in the import of oil by India from Russia.

According to Bessent, the development is a clear proof of the success of the US policy.

He has further said that the imposition of 25 per cent tariffs on India has proved to be productive.

On the other hand, Indian Express has said that the US secretary has confirmed that the tariffs will not be withdrawn.

In August last year, the US had increased tariffs on India to 50 per cent, which had caused a colossal damage to the country’s economy.
