Centre asks Punjab to return Rs70 billion given for polio drive

The federal government has asked the Punjab government to return Rs70 billion given to the province in 2012 for the polio vaccination campaign, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The federal government borrowed money to provide the polio vaccines to Punjab over the last 10 years.

However, it is learned that there is no allocation of funds in the Punjab budget for this very purpose.

On the other hand, the Parks and Horticulture Authority, Lahore, has demanded Rs1.20 billion in order to tide over its operational deficit.
