Maheen Anwari sounds alarm over ‘Crime Themed Tiktoks’ featuring schoolgirls
Pakistani actress and activist Maheen Anwari has voiced serious concerns over the rise of disturbing social media content, urging authorities to take immediate action against accounts allegedly promoting crime-themed videos involving children and school uniforms.
Taking to her Instagram handle, the actress shared a carousel of photos and clips, including a video showing a man allegedly reenacting a kidnapping scene involving a young girl dressed in a school uniform. Maheen expressed alarm over the nature of the content, arguing that such videos can negatively influence young audiences and normalize dangerous behavior.
Addressing the matter publicly, she appealed to the authorities, writing:
"I would like to submit an official appeal to the authorities Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, NCCIA, and the Punjab Government. Please take serious action against accounts that misuse school uniforms and create content spreading crime in society. This is harmful and sets a dangerous example for young viewers."
She further stated that she had attached the video and the username of the alleged account for review, requesting officials to take notice of such content and initiate strict action against those responsible.
The actress also shared a screenshot of the account she claimed was involved in producing such material. According to Maheen, dramatizing violent or criminal acts while using school uniforms can be misleading, desensitize viewers to serious crimes, and leave a harmful impact on impressionable children.
Her appeal has sparked discussions online about the responsibility of digital creators and the need for stricter monitoring of content that may glamorize or trivialize criminal activities, particularly those involving minors.

Notably, this is not the first time Maheen Anwari has spoken out on issues concerning children's welfare and their portrayal on social media. Earlier this year, she publicly criticized the online exposure of child influencer Zartasha Kashif, popularly known as Tashu, raising concerns about the exploitation of minors for digital content.

The controversy later escalated into a legal battle after Maheen filed a case against Tashu's father, Kashif Mir, alleging that she had been subjected to threats, harassment, and defamatory campaigns following her remarks.
