Pakistan rises as peacemaker in the world, says Dar

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (FM) Ishaq Dar said on Thursday that those who wished Pakistan isolation had to bite the dust, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

He said that on the contrary, Pakistan had emerged as a strong and responsible country in the world.

“The country got an opportunity to play an important role during recent tensions in the Gulf, as it brought the US and Iran to the negotiating table after 47 years, and thus played its role in the restoration of peace in the region,” he said, adding, “Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif led the initiative from the front, while the services rendered by Field Marshal Asim Munir are no less praiseworthy.”

Dar said that the world now did not consider Pakistan an epicenter of terrorism, but as a ‘peacemaker’. “Pakistan was the first to condemn the attack on Iran.”

Dar said that Pakistan was a responsible nuclear state. “It has the capability to lead the Muslim world.”

The FM said that now the government had to make Pakistan economically stronger.

He was of the view that decisions taken by the previous government proved detrimental for the country’s economy. “It was Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif who put the country back on the path to progress,” he claimed.

He said that the work on the expansion of Data Darbar was underway.

Earlier, Dar participated in the ablution ceremony at Data Darbar as a special guest.

Punjab Minister for Housing Bilal Yasin, Provincial Minister for Health Khawaja Salman Rafique, MPA Mian Marghub Ahmad, senior member of Board of Revenue Nabeel Javed, secretary Auqaf Dr. Ihsan Bhutta, Deputy Commissioner (r) Muhammad Ali Ijaz, Administrator Data Darbar Muhammad Ali Khan, Administrator Badshahi Mosque Shahid Hameed Virk, Manager Gohar Mustafa and Zahid Anwar Butt were also present at the ceremony.
