Temperatures dip after rain lashes parts of Punjab

Different areas in north-east Punjab received rain on Thursday morning, bringing down temperatures and much-needed respite to the people from scorching heat, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Temperatures dropped considerably after heavy rain lashed Sarai Alamgir and its outskirts.

People, suffering from intense heat for the last several days, finally heaved a sigh of relief.

Cool breeze following the rain turned the weather even more pleasant.

Thundershowers were also reported from Wazirabad and its surrounding areas.

Similarly, heavy rain in Muridke and Kamonke brought smiles to people’s faces since they were bearing extreme heat for the last several days.

Though it rained in Narowal only for half-an-hour, still it was sufficient to inundate the entire city as low-lying areas turned into pools of water while all feeders tripped, resulting in the suspension of power supply to the city.

Likewise, rain was also reported from Gujranwala, Kharian, Shakargarh, Kartarpur, Azizabad, Chamal, Noorkot and outskirts.

Rain forecast for north-east Punjab, Balochistan

On the other hand, the Met Office forecast more rain for north-east Punjab, and Sheerani, Musakhel, Kohlu, Barkhan, Khuzdar and surrounding areas in Balochistan during the next 24 hours.

It said that hot weather was expected in most parts of the country during the aforementioned period.
