Ogra orders inquiry into LPG tanker blast

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) on Wednesday took notice of an incident in which a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) tanker caught fire after it turned turtle on the road near Shahdarra Morr, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
The Ogra spokesperson said a team had been constituted to investigate the matter.
According to eyewitnesses, the tanker turned turtle and started leaking gas. On seeing this, the driver fled away from the scene. The tanker soon exploded into a big flame.
At least 10 people, including a traffic warden, sustained injuries and were shifted to Mayo Hospital.
The fire had also engulfed a nearby petrol pump, markets and vehicles parked in the parking lot.
As many as 56 workers took part in the two-hour-long rescue operation and extinguished the flames.
Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has taken notice of the incident and sought a report on it.
Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Hammad Abid reached the Mayo Hospital to inquire about the health of traffic warden.
