KP Chief Secretary contracts coronavirus

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Dr Kazim Niaz contracted coronavirus as he was tested positive for the virus on Monday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Reacting to the news, KP Chief Minister Mehmood Khan prayed for his recovery and said the chief secretary had been tireless efforts to control coronavirus in the province.
Similarly, ANP provincial president Aimal Wali Khanin a tweet asked everyone to pray for his early recovery and stressed the need for staying at home for staying safe.

Earlier on Sunday, PML-N Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief Amir Muqam was tested positive for coronavirus, as he put himself in quarantine at his residence in Islamabad.
Meanwhile, a former provincial minister and Jamaat-e-Islami leader Hussain Ahmed Kanju died from coronavirus in Swat on late Sunday.
The news came a day after two Punjab cabinet members Minister for Literacy and Informal Education Raja Rashid Hafeez and Energy Minister Dr Akhtar Malik contracted COVID-19.
The number of coronavirus cases are increasing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at an alarming rate, as the virus has so far infected 7,905 people in the province. However, there are many people who believe that the actual figures are much higher and the low number of cases is only because of inadequate testing.
On the other hand, most number of deaths in the country has so far been recorded in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where the figures currently stand at 398.
Meanwhile, the province also has a much higher rate of infection among the healthcare professionals due to lack of personal protection equipment.
