Three people were killed on the spot and five seriously injured in a traffic accident when a passenger van and truck collided on Peshawar Motorway in Swabi in the wee hours of Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The dead included three people including a child, Rescue 1122 officials informed the media persons. The van was carrying passengers from Rawalpindi to Swabi. 

Rescue 1122 officials said they arrived at the accident spot at 2:45 am in the night along with two ambulances and one rescue vehicle.

The Rescue team had to cut the passenger coach from the sides to take out trapped passengers after the accident. Swabi Rescue 1122 shifted the injured to the Mardan Medical Complex (MMC). 

The accident occurred near the Colonel Sher Khan Interchange on Motorway in Swabi.
