Veteran actor Satish Shah passes away

Veteran Indian actor Satish Shah, best known for his impeccable comic timing and memorable screen presence, has passed away at the age of 74 after battling kidney-related complications.

The veteran actor breathed his last on Saturday at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai, where he had been admitted for treatment.

The heartbreaking news was confirmed by filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, who shared the update on X (formerly Twitter).

“Sad and shocked to inform you that our dear friend and a great actor Satish Shah has expired a few hours ago due to kidney failure... A great loss to our industry. Om Shanti,” Pandit wrote, expressing grief over the loss of one of Indian cinema’s most beloved performers.

Satish Shah’s passing marks the end of an era for Indian comedy.

Over a career spanning more than four decades, he carved a special place in the hearts of millions through his unmatched sense of humor, relatable characters, and effortless charm.
