The ongoing political situation has hampered preparations for presenting the budget for the next financial year, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
Political instability in Punjab triggered uncertainty among the officials
According to a senior government official, they do not know if they will make a budget for four months or a year.
So far, we have not received instructions over budget making, the official said on the condition of anonymity.
The independent parliamentary observer groups like the Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (Pildat) and Free and Fair Election Network (Fafen) raised concerns over Punjab Assembly violence during a session called for the CM election.
They called for a fair probe and bring to book the culprits so that lawmakers could resume the proceeding. The Punjab Assembly speaker approached the court against the police concerned after the lawmen refuse to register the case.
The events in Punjab Assembly reflected a failure of multiple layers of regulatory protections and checks that have been instituted to ensure compliance with rules by the secretariat as well as to deter such incidents by belligerent members, the observers said.
