Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said on Saturday said it was unfortunate that at a time when India was threatening Pakistan, a political party was spitting venom against the Pakistani army, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Speaking to the media in Narowal, he accused PTI of indulging in anti-army propaganda on social media.

Emphasizing that the country’s interests were supreme, Ahsan said that personal interests could not be preferred to those of the nation.

He further said that India, by holding Pakistan responsible for the Pahalgam attack, was trying to cover up its failure to prevent the incident.

“No other country has suffered more at the hands of terrorists than we Pakistanis,” the minister said, adding, “Pakistan has been the victim of terrorism for the last several decades. But we never adopted an irresponsible behavior the way Indians do.”

He lamented that whenever even a small incident took place in India, the latter started singling out Pakistan. “The fact of the matter is that India is an unsafe country. It has the habit of pointing fingers at us.”

Ahsan also slammed India for using water as a weapon by suspending the Indus Water Treaty. “Our armed forces are alert. If India attacks, the forces will give it a befitting reply.”
