Student dies as fire breaks out in Faisalabad seminary
A student died and five others including a teacher received burn injuries when a fire broke out in a madrassa in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Colony in Faisalabad on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to police, student Rehan died on the spot after being burnt in the seminary while five others were injured.
The fire broke out after a gas pipeline explosion.
Another student, Hafiz Falak Sher, and teacher Qari Zaheer were seriously injured in the fire.
According to rescue officials, 10-year-old Abdul Wali, 12-year-old Hussain and 11-year-old Ehsan were also among the wounded.
Rescue officials said there was a smell of gas coming out from the store adjacent to the classroom and the student turned on the storeroom light to check for leakage.
As soon as he turned on the light which caused a spark, and then an explosion occurred. As a result Rehan died on the spot.
The injured and the body were shifted to Allied Hospital.
Rescue teams reached the spot and brought the fire under control. Samanabad police have also started investigating the incident.
