Sarmad Qadeer has spoken up after his hit track Laal Suit was copied across the border, marking the third time his music has been lifted without permission.
The original song, featuring Iqra Aziz and Talha Chahour in its video, gained immense popularity in Pakistan upon its release.
However, it resurfaced in a different avatar in India, sparking online buzz about plagiarism.
Taking to social media, Sarmad addressed the controversy with a mix of humor and frustration.
He pointed out that while Indian producers often call such remakes “inspiration,” this was actually the third time his work had been copied.
“Next time, at least ask before stealing. Pakistanis have big hearts,” he quipped, adding a wink and music emoji to soften the sting of his words.
His response quickly went viral, with fans praising him for standing his ground while keeping the tone lighthearted.
This is not the first time Pakistani songs have found their way into Bollywood productions without formal acknowledgement.
Over the years, multiple tracks like Laree Chootee and Afreen Afreen have been reworked into Indian films and dramas, often sparking debates over intellectual property.
The new version of Laal Suit has been circulating online with clips featuring Bollywood stars including Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra.
But fans loyal to the original insist that nothing can match the charm of Iqra Aziz and Talha Chahour’s chemistry in the official video.
