Chief of Pakistan Navy, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi says the Naval Force of the country is ever ready to respond to any aggression.
Speaking during a visit to Command Center of Exercise Seaspark 2020 in Karachi on Wednesday, he said the country's navy was equipped with enough men and material resources to give a befitting response to the enemy.
The naval chief visited the command centre to review the operational preparedness and plans of the coastal command.
Abbasi received a briefing on the operational activities during Exercise Seaspark and installation of assets.
He also visited cracks area and forward positions and appreciated the security measures there.
In a related development, a Turkish official Tuesday praised an agreement between Pakistan and Turkey on the sales of four corvettes to Pakistan as part of Turkey’s National Ship (MILGEM) project.
“Pakistan’s possession of four MILGEM corvettes will change the balance in the region and will carry the country to the position of a playmaker,” Esad Akgun, director-general of Military Factory and Shipyard Management Inc. (ASFAT), a company operating under Turkey’s Defense Ministry, told Anadolu Agency.
“It is very important for us to have Pakistan in this position as we do not see the Pakistani army separate from our own army,” Akgun said. Akgun visited Pakistan to attend Pakistan-Turkey Business Investment Forum organized by Turkey’s Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK).
