PFA unearths two ‘chemical milk’ production units in Bahawalnagar
10,000 litres of fake milk, chemicals seized during raid

The Punjab Food Authority detected two adulterated milk preparation units in Bahawalnagar and seized 10,000 litres of “chemical milk.” The officials also sealed Mazhar Milk Collection Centre and Rehman Dairy over preparation of milk from chemical. The PFA team took the action in Bahawalnagar under the supervision of Director Operations (South) Shehzad Magsi. During the raid, the officials recovered huge quantity of 10,000 litres of adulterated milk from Mazhar Milk Collection Centre and Rehman Dairy. The officials also seized Soy powder and red and blue coloured hazardous chemical being used for preparation of milk.
According to Irfan Memon, DG Punjab Food Authority, the PFA officials seized 120 kg of soy powder, three chemical drums and 13 bags used soy powder and two used chemical drums from the spot.
Both the artificial milk producing units have been sealed and samples of soy powder and other chemicals have been sent to laboratory for examination.
The Punjab Food Authority DG informed that the adulterated and chemicals-prepared milk cause serious bone and stomach diseases, adding that producers of such milk are in fact national criminals who have been playing with the public health for monetary gains.
The PFA DG said that milk production from chemicals is a serious crime.
