Voting underway for by-poll in Rajanpur

Polling has begun for by-election in NA-193, Jampur, Rajanpur, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Voters and workers of both the PML-N and the PTI are present in their camps in large numbers.
The workers of both the parties are quite upbeat about their candidates’ win.
PML-N supporters say they are sure that Sardar Amaar Awais Laghari will win from the constituency.
They say that today is the day to hold people accountable who kept their area backward.
Strict security arrangements have been made to prevent any untoward incident.
The polling began at 8:00 AM and will continue until 5:00 PM without any break.
The seat had fallen vacant due to the death of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member Jaffar Khan Leghari, who had died in Lahore on December 31, 2022, after a prolonged illness.
Although 11 candidates are running for the seat, but the main contest is expected between the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Amaar Awais Leghari and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Mohsin Leghari. Pakistan Peoples Party’s Akhtar Hassan Gorchani is also contesting the polls.
237 polling stations have been set up in the constituency, of which 68 are declared sensitive. While 2,650 police personnel have been deployed to deal with any untoward situation while Rangers and Army personnel will also patrol the area.
