Two suspected robbers killed in Karachi gunfight

Two suspected robbers were killed when a citizen opened fire at them in Korangi Town of Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.


According to police sources, the citizen killed two robbers while two others fled after the robbery at Korangi No.22.


The robbers were identified as 18-year-old Abdul Rahman and 23-year-old Abdul Khaliq who left their home asking family to visit graveyard.


Post-mortem of Abdul Khaliq showed he was fatally wounded during the encounter, while Abdul Rahman's family declined to have his body undergo a post-mortem examination.


Abdul Khaliq sustained multiple gunshot wounds to various parts of his body, and 8 bullet wounds, according to the police.


Moreover, he was an 11th-grade student and was employed at a garments factory, while his two brothers are front-line imams in Landhi.


Following legal procedures, the bodies were handed over to their families.


Stolen goods and weapons have been recovered from the suspects, claims police.


Furthermore, during the conversation with Abdul Khaliq's brother, Abdul Rahim at Jinnah Hospital, he alleged that they received a call that Abdul Khaliq was shot by police officers.


“Abdul Rahman’s visa was ready and he was about to go for Umrah on March 5”, brother said.

Both Abdul Rahman and Abdul Khaliq were residents of Jumma Goth and were known to be close friends, Abdul Rahim.


Zaman Town Police has registered three cases of the matter.


Further investigations of the incident are under consideration, by police.
