Explosion derails two coaches of Jaffar Express near Shikarpur
An explosion occurred on a railway track near Sultan Kot in Shikarpur on Monday, derailing two coaches of the Jaffar Express travelling from Quetta to Peshawar.
According to police officials, all passengers remained safe and no casualties were reported in the incident. However, the explosion caused panic and a brief stampede among passengers onboard the train.
Police and rescue teams rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information about the incident. Bomb disposal squad teams were also dispatched to determine the nature and intensity of the explosion.
Law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area from all sides as part of security measures, while investigations were launched to ascertain the cause of the blast.
Police sources said this was the fourth such attack on railway infrastructure in the area over the past five months, raising serious concerns over the security of railway operations in the region.
