Punjab CM orders strict implementation of SOPs in marriage halls
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed to ensure complete implementation of the Marriage Functions Act 2016 in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
According to details, Deputy Commissioners Lahore issued a directive to assistant commissioners to strictly check all marriage halls and take an action against those wedding halls who found in violation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The district administration conducted 217 inspections, in which it was found that 93 percent of wedding halls were implementing SOPs.
Action was taken against 15 wedding halls in Raiwind, Nishtar Colony, Cantt, and Wagha area for violation of one dish act.
The Deputy Commissioner was directed to seal all those wedding halls that violated SOPs.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed to encourage those owners who implemented SOPs in letter and spirit in their wedding halls.
The further directed district administration teams to remain in the field till late at night to monitor movements of the marriage hall.
