Mohsin Naqvi reviews security plan for Muharram
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday presided over a special meeting to review security arrangements during Muharram, reported 24NewsHDTV channel.
The participants of the meeting reviewed security plan during Muharram in all four provinces and Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and Islamabad.
The participants also decided to take stern action against people for spreading hatred on social media.
It was decided during the meeting that some recommendations will be forwarded to Pakistan Electronics and Regulatory Authority (PENRA) in this regard.
It was also decided to take effect measures to ensure law and order situation is under control during Muharram.
The meeting decided that a decision about suspension of internet and mobile services will be taken after consultation with the provinces.
Mohsin Naqvi vowed to take all decisions in coordination with all relevant organisations.
He said that the Center will extend all out support to all the provinces including Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, and Islamabad to maintain law and order situation.
Mohsin Naqvi said that no will be allowed to take the law into their hands.
He said that implementation on SOPs must be ensured during Muharram, especially during majalis and processions.
Mohsin Naqvi said that the use of the latest technology should be ensured during the monitoring of Muharram processions and majalis.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhary, federal secretary interior, acting chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), DIG Islamabad, and heads of other law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) took part in the meeting.
Inspector-Generals of Police (IGPs) and secretaries from Punjab, Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and Islamabad participated in the meeting.
A comprehensive briefing was also given to the Interior Minister.
