Educational institutions closure to continue until May 31

Planning Minister Asad Umar said on Thursday that the National Coordination Committee (NCC) decided to continue educational institutions' closure until May 31.
The government is following a national strategy to get over the corona crisis, he told the media after the committee meeting on steps to stem coronavirus.
Backed by the armed forces, all political parties are jointly taking steps to cope with the challenge, the minister said. He added government issued a stern warning against profiteering.
Umer said the prime minister will announce an aid plan soon, he said and made an appeal to the people to follow restriction rules and adopt preventive measures.
Special Assistant on Health Zafar Mirza shared updates, saying that 1,128 were active while people were patients sent home after recovery.
A total of 575 coronavirus patients have been hospitalised so far, he said adding that medics would be provided with medical instruments by April 5.
Dr Zafar said Dr Faisal Sultan is posted a focal person and doctors would be trained to tackle the situation. He said 5,000 paramedics will be provided training during a month. NDMA chief Muhammad Afzal 50,000 testing kits will arrive at the Karachi airport tomorrow.
