The National Database and Registration Authority’s (NADRA) profiteering has been exposed during the PTI regime, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the sources that the NADRA earned Rs 10 billion more during its three-year tenure through increasing extra burden on the masses. Due to the increase in fees, the NADRA profit increased from Rs 18 billion to Rs 28 billion in three years.

Moreover, NADRA'S shot term investment has increased from Rs 2 billion to Rs 9 and a half billion.  There has been a total increase of 332%.

Administrative and other expenses also increased up to two and a half billion rupees.

The Auditor General also sought a report from NADRA on all matters. An explanation of the expenses has been sought from NADRA regarding the rising utility bills and a huge increase in construction and repair expenses.

During the previous regime, NADRA did not take any interest in correcting the advance tax calculations, it added.
