Gen Bajwa, ISI chief call on PM

An important meeting among Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Chief General Faiz Hameed was held here in Islamabad on Tuesday.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the meeting was held soon after the return of the PM from Saudi Arabia’s three-day-long official visit.

The sources said that in the meeting, PM Imran and COAS Gen Bajwa discussed the situation in the country and the approval of the appointment of the new ISI chief Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum. The Director-General of ISI was also present in the meeting and participated in the discussion.

Separately, the PM also presided over a special meeting at Bani Gala in which the issue of banned outfit Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) was discussed in detail.

The sources said that it was decided in the meeting that negotiations with the banned religious organization would continue. 

PM Imran Khan was also briefed by the authorities about the security situation in the country especially after the announcement of the long march from the TLP.
