Punjab Assembly’s PAC starts probe into 'corruption' committed during PTI govt
Punjab Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee-III (PAC-III) has initiated an inquiry into alleged financial irregularities committed during the PTI government, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
It has been learnt that as per the audit report for the financial year, 2021-22, irregularities have been found in the Punjab’s district health authorities.
The PAC has directed the secretary health to complete probe into 25 corruption cases within 30 days.
It has been alleged that medicines and medical equipment were purchased at prices three times higher than their original prices.
There is also an allegation that people were recruited in the health department by violating rules and regulations.
The committee has sought all record from the health department so that strict action could be taken against those responsible.
Ahmad Iqbal, PAC-III chairman, has alleged that the national exchequer was plundered during the PTI government.
