Anti-polio combat in Karachi on October 2

A seven-day anti-polio campaign will begin on October 2 in Karachi, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.

Karachi Commissioner Muhammad Saleem Rajput held a meeting which was attended by reps of WHO, Unicef and officials concerned.

There is currently no polio case in Karachi, the meeting was briefed.

As reports pointed out the presence of the virus in two Karachi areas, the polio squad will target these.

More than 2.6 million children will be administered anti-polio drops in the campaign.

Children will also be given vitamin A. During the anti-polio campaign, 3,500 personnel will perform duty.
