Pakistan, UK agree to maintain close contact amid regional developments

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper to discuss the evolving regional situation, the Foreign Office spokesperson said on Monday.

According to the spokesperson, the two leaders exchanged views on the latest developments in the region and underscored the importance of diplomatic engagement in addressing emerging challenges.

During the conversation, the British foreign secretary appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts and its constructive role in promoting dialogue and negotiations, the statement added.

Both sides also agreed on the importance of maintaining continuous contacts to ensure peace and stability not only in the region but across the world. The officials reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening communication and cooperation between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

The Foreign Office spokesperson said the two countries reached a consensus on sustaining regular engagement to further enhance bilateral relations and coordinate on key international issues.
