Flood in Soan River as heavy rain hit twin cities

As heavy rain lashed the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, the Soan River burst its banks and inundated several localities in the area, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday evening.
The downward which started late Wednesday night continued till afternoon with intervals, causing an alarming rise in small rivers and streams. As a result, localities like Azeem Town, Dhok Darzian and many other villages were inundated in the Sihala area.

Situation in Rawalpindi too got worse as urban flooding as well as the notorious Nullah Lai affected several localities after water entered many houses.

Over 100 houses were inundated in Christian Colony located near the Soan River after which the rescuers shifted the citizens to safer places.
Meanwhile, three people were killed and two injured in a lightning strike at Thatta Karlan village of Hafizabad.
Meanwhile, the road connecting Rawalpindi with Azad Kashmir through Kotli Satian was blocked after landslide hit the area, forcing the commuters to walk for miles in heavy rain.
And in Jhelum, around 150 villages were cut-off from the main towns in Jhelum as heavy rain played a havoc in the area. In this situation, the main roads and streets in the city are giving the looks of streams.
Similarly, hours-long downpour exposed the claims made by the government as many parts of Sargodha city were inundated.
On the other hand, Sialkot too has been receiving rain for the last two days, submerging many roads and low-lying areas.
