Fire breaks out in Karachi hospital

A massive fire erupted at a hospital in Karachi, but thanks to the quick action of the firefighters, the flames were doused in no time on Tuesday morning, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

This caused quite a lot of panic and people clambered onto the roof of the building, fearing that the fire had spread to the upper floors of the building

A fire brigade and volunteers from different welfare organisations assisted in dousing the fire using two fire tenders and a snorkel.

After receiving the report, one fire-bridge vehicle rushed to the spot, which started a rescue operation and brought the fire under control.

Several family members of people trapped in the building rushed to the hospital and gathered outside as news of the fire hit the airwaves. “If firefighters had not arrived on time, we would not have survived,” said a woman, whose two-year-old boy was one of the patients rescued from the hospital.

Sources said that an investigation is underway to determine the real cause of the fire incident.
