Two die in turbine blast at Jhang sugar mill

Two workers lost their lives and another two critically wounded when steam pipeline of a turbine lying in the power house of Shakarganj Sugar Mill exploded with a bang, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The Shakarganj Sugar Mill is located on Toba Road in Jhang.

The in-charge of the power house confirmed the blast in the turbine and steam lines. The dead workers were later identified as Akmal 40, and Habibur Rehman, 30. Both labourers were residents of Jhang City and Faisalabad.

Soon after receiving the report, a Rescue 1122 team rushed to the spot and shifted the dead and injured persons to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) in Jhang in an ambulance.

Doctors said that both persons were died as 90 percent of their bodies were severely burnt.
