Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Monday called upon Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shehbaz Sharif in Lahore to mull over an anti-government campaign after Eidul Azha.
Fazl greeted Shehbaz on defeating deadly Covid-19 and the latter thanked the former for feeling strong concerns for his health.
Later, they held a joint press conference and announce an all-party conference of opposition to ‘topple’ the government.
A special body, Rehbar Committee, will devise a compressive strategy for the purpose as the government failed to deliver in two years, Shehbaz said.
Sugar scam and unprecedented hike in fuel price, rise in four rates, and rupee devaluation exposed the ‘product of vote rigging’, said the opposition leader in NA.
Fazl told the media that the opposition would not keep quiet over poor governance the PTI would be held accountable. Citing the top court’s remarks, he said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has lost its credibility.
Reports suggested that PPP chief Bilawal Bhutto is expected to join the opposition preparations for the APC.
In October 2019, the Fazl led an anti-government move that failed make the main opposition leaders participate in though they announced support to the campaign.
