Qudsia Ali speaks about domestic abuses, says silence empowers abusers

Pakistani actress Qudsia Ali has delivered a powerful message against domestic abuse with requesting women to speak up rather than silently endure violence.

Qudsia said that tolerating abusive behaviour only gives the abuser more power and allows the cycle of violence to continue.

She mentions that remaining silent often leads to repeated abuse that affects not only the victim but also future generations.

"Once a hand is raised for the first time, it will continue to be raised," she said.

The Dil Awaiz actress added that children who grow up witnessing violence may also repeat the same behaviour later in life.

She encouraged viewers to break the cycle, with explaining that change begins when someone finds the courage to take a stand.

Qudsia also urged people not to let fear of the consequences stop them from making difficult decisions.

Social media users got their own input on the topic.

A graduate of the University of Karachi, Qudsia Ali began her acting career with Aulaad and has since established herself as one of Pakistan's promising young actresses.

She has earned recognition for her performances in popular dramas including Kuch Ankahi, Betiyaan, Mushkil, Sukoon, and Dil Awaiz, while also appearing in the film Khel Khel Mein.
