PIAF sets up fund for labourers

The Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (PIAF) has established a fund for welfare of day labourers who are the worst hit by coronavirus calamity.
According to a press release, PIAF Chairman Mian Nauman Kabir said the members started donating generously and by the grace of God, an amount of Rs3 million is collected in just a single day.
The PIAF chairman after having discussed with senior vice chairman Nasir Hameed and vice chairman Javed Iqbal, took the noble initiative to support the poor in their hour of need.
Mian Nauman Kabir said the PIAF would continue to fulfill its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as it understands the government alone cannot cope with the challenge.
The chairman said that the PIAF has always played its role at all testing times and credit goes to its members who gave maximum for the help of the deprived.
He said that business community has to perform an extraordinary role as the situation has become too grave to be handled by the government alone.
“Presently this fund is launched for Lahore specific labourers. In the first phase, the PIAF team will distribute ration in all industrial estates and major labour markets like Shahalam , Anarkali, Akbari Mandi, Railway Stations, Bhati Darbar etc.
