Sindh govt decides to enforce smart lockdown in province 

Spokesman for the Sindh government Diwan Sukhdev Asardas said on Friday that in view of increasing oil prices in the international market, the provincial government, after serious deliberation, had decided to enforce smart lockdown in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to the 24News TV channel in Ghotki, he informed that in this regard, a notification was expected to be issued within 24 to 48 hours.

He said that there was a need to save fuel in the present situation.

He, however, said the lockdown would be entirely different from the one enforced during the coronavirus pandemic, and its purpose was to save fuel.

Elaborating further, Asardas said that under the lockdown, there would be online classes at colleges and universities. “Work from home policy could be adopted at government and private offices,” he said, adding, “However, hospitals, police and public transport will be exempted from the lockdown.”
