The Lahore-Sialkot motorway has been closed from Muridke to Sambrial due to dense fog, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

The M2 motorway has been closed from Thokar Bypass to Banu Sabu only. 

According to motorways police spokesperson, M2 is open for travelling from Babu Sabu, Lahore to Islamabad. 

The motorway police instructed the drivers to use front and rare fog lights and avoid unnecessary travel. 

Cold, dry conditions persist

As per the Metrological Department report, weather will remain cold and dry in most parts of the country on Sunday. However, fog is expected in some plain districts of Punjab in the morning hours.

The weather of the last 24 hours was dry and cold in most parts of the country, while the weather in Gilgit-Baltistan and North Balochistan remained very cold during the night and morning hours.

Minimum temperature recorded today: Leh minus 08 degrees Celsius, Skardu minus 06 degrees Celsius, Astur, Gopas, Kalat, Ziarat minus 04 degrees Celsius and Hunza recorded minus 03 degrees Celsius.
