PPP senator lashes out at PML-N leaders for doing politics on floods

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders on Saturday came down hard on the PML-N government in Punjab for what they called the use of inappropriate language by its ministers against their party’s government in Sindh, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.   

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, with other party leaders sitting alongside her, PPP Senator Palwasha Khan said that there should be no politics when a calamity has hit the country. 

She wondered as to why the very mention of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) made the PML-N leaders uneasy. “Whenever there is a natural disaster in a country, an appeal is made for help,” Palwasha said, adding, “If seeking assistance is so bad, then why does the federal government borrow loans from the IMF?” 

The PPP senator asked the Punjab government to respond to criticism by improving its performance. 

She made it clear to the PML-N that neither Punjab nor Sindh was any political party’s property.
