State Bank releases first half-year report
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Monday released its first half-year report of current fiscal year 2024-25, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The report stated that current account surplus and trade deficit touched its lowest level during first half of current fiscal year.
The report said that International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan programme put a positive impact on economic growth of Pakistan.
State Bank of Pakistan report further revealed that inflation rate is decreasing day by day. Balanced agricultural policy and cut in prices of daily usage commodities also put a positive impact on national economy.
During the month of March 2025 inflation rate was dropped by 0.7 percent which is the lowest after a long time.
Increase in exports, record remittance and increase in current account surplus also played key role in economic growth of our country.
First tranche of IMF also strengthened country’s financial reserves. The report predicted that during current fiscal year inflation percentage will be between 5.5 percent to 4.5 percent.
During fiscal year 2025 real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will be between 2.5 to 3.5 percent State Bank of Pakistan report stated.
